Some say that Namibia is a land God made in anger, but to us it’s beauty, splendor and diversity make it the “smile on the face of Africa”. Namibia became independent on the 21 March 1990. After adopting an unique constitution, the country has been ruled by a democratically elected and politically stable government ever since. The physical infrastructure in Namibia is equivalent to first world countries and is maintained to a high standard. People are generally friendly and hospitable.
CURRENCY - The official currency is the Namibian Dollar which exchanges at the same rate as the South African Rand. Thomas Cook and American Express exchange houses are located at the Airport. All major credit cards/travellers cheques and bank notes are accepted throughout Namibia. Banks in Namibia are open for business Mondays to Fridays from 09h00 till 15h30 and Saturdays from 08h00 till 11h00.
LANGUAGE - English is the official language of Namibia, although a total of thirteen languages are spoken by it’s richly diverse population. We speak fluently English, Afrikaans and German and can help ourselves in French.
